Model COBRA Notices Updated for ACA Changes

Check out the COBRA updates and stay in compliance

On May 2, 2014, the Department of Labor (DOL) released updated versions of the model general notice and model election notice under Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). These updates are intended to reflect that the Exchanges are now open and clarify the impact of the Exchanges on COBRA continuation coverage. It is possible that fewer qualified beneficiaries will elect COBRA coverage now that the Exchanges and subsidies took effect in 2014, which may result in cost-savings for your employer-sponsored health plan.

The DOL also released a Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) related to the proposed changes to the model notices.

So go ahead and read about it in our newsletter: Model COBRA Notices Updated for ACA Changes, and go on the DOL website to learn more!
